Halloween and Rex's Blessing

We had a very fun Halloween weekend. My parents came Friday night and helped me at the ward trunk or treat party while Jeremy worked. Jeremy's family came on Saturday and it was so great to see all of them especially Tom and Chanelle's boys that we haven't seen since June. The boys had fun all dressing up we even ended up with and buzz and woody. We trick or treated and then had a sleep over with the four oldest boys all of them in one room.

The next day, Sunday, we blessed Rex at church. It was a very sweet blessing and it gave me a chance to reflect again how thankful I am for Jeremy and all the other men in our lives who live worthy of their priesthood to be able to perform such a special ordinance. Jeremy and I felt the spirit very strong and feel so blessed to have little Rex in our lives, he is such a joy to have in our family, I am so thankful to Heavenly Father for giving me such a great baby. Here are a few pictures we took at home after the blessing.

Today is Sandy's 33rd birthday! Those of you who know Sandy know how beautiful, intelligent, caring and hard working she is and how lucky the boys and I are to have such a wonderful mom and wife. She is everything to me.

A little R & R

With all four babies I have had people give me the advice that when my baby sleeps I should sleep too. I have two other small kids still at home during the day, so this is not something I have been able to take advantage of very often in the past four weeks since Rex was born. This afternoon was one of those rare occasions where all three boys took a nap all at the same time and it lasted for over two hours. And yes, even though I had laundry to do, bathrooms to be cleaned and floors to be vacuumed, I laid down next to Rex and slept too. So for any of you moms out there wondering if you should take this advice, I highly recommend it!

Peltzer Farm Pumpkin Patch

At the beginning of the month we took Wyatt's preschool class to a local farm that does a fun pumpkin patch each year. It was unseasonable cool so we could stay a little longer this year, we have been there in years past where it was so hot that the trip was cut short. Wyatt's favorite part is always the corn maze, I didn't think to take pictures of that but it was a great day with a really sweet class. Luke had a really good time too and Rex stayed nice and comfy in the great baby sling my sister made me.

Announcing: Rex Douglas Price

On Thursday September 24, 2009 at 2:20pm our newest member of the family arrived. Rex Douglas Price was born weighing 7lbs 11oz and measuring 20 inches long. I was induced at 7:30 in the morning and things progressed quickly, had my epidural and water broken both around 12:00 and at 2:20 he was born. We are both doing really well, we came home from the hospital yesterday (Friday). I am so thankful to my mother-in-law who has been here all week helping us get ready for the baby and then staying with the boys while we were in the hospital what a huge blessing that has been for all of us to have her here. Here are a few pictures, unfortunately our camera did not work when we tried taking pictures so all of the pictures we have are from our phones. We can't tell yet who he looks like, he has the same color and amount of hair as the rest of the boys have had I guess time will tell.

Baby Update

I haven't mentioned anything for awhile about my pregnancy so I thought I would give a little update as I went to the Dr. today and had an ultrasound done. Sorry no pictures, I'm not a big one on having my picture taken when I'm pregnant.

I am almost 35 weeks but measure almost 36 weeks. I have measured big with the other boys so I don't get excited thinking I'll go early. He is head down but face up so again not much chance of going into labor early. Wyatt was "sunny side up" too and even though I was dilated to a 3 and fully effaced 3 weeks before my due date with him, I still had to be induced. She said he probably weighs around 6 pounds right now give or take 10%. Everything seems to be very healthy which is great news, I asked her if there was any chance of him being a her not a him and she said very little (I had to ask:). She tried to look for me to double check but because of the way he was laying and how squashed he is in there she couldn't tell. I've made my peace with having all boys anyway and might have had a few seconds of disappointment if she would have said it was a girl.

Anyway, we're in the home stretch now and trying to survive the last weeks of pregnancy, for all you who have been through it know each week seems to last a month, especially in the hot summer months. Jeremy is in Sale's School, until the middle of September, I am teaching a month of preschool and have Super Saturday the middle of September so we have plenty to keep us busy and know the baby really can't come until then.

Camp Wana Kura- Diabetes Camp 2009

Last week Eli was able to attend Diabetes Camp- Camp Wana Kura for his second year. It is such an amazing week for him and he looks so forward to it every year. It is in Santee Regional park near San Diego. He goes all day and I pick him up every afternoon. It is all for kids with diabetes which is such a great opportunity for him to mingle with other kids with his disease. They do tons of crafts which is right up Eli's alley, they have water party's, do paddle boats in the lake and many more day camp type activities. It is a great chance for him to see that he is not the only one that gets low blood sugars, not the only one who has to stop and test his blood, and that he is much more like other kids than different. At the hospital where we get our quarterly workups done he sees a wonderful nurse practitioner who was his "Camp Nurse" this year. She is so amazing as she has had diabetes herself most of her life. She took Eli under her wing and made him feel so special this year, even awarded him camper of the year for their unit. Jeremy and I are so thankful that he has this great week every year and look forward to him being part of it for many years to come. A big thanks again to my parents for getting their timeshare for us so we didn't have to drive back and forth. More pictures to come of the fun things we did with them.

Luke is "3"

Today is Luke's 3rd birthday. I don't know how I turned around and my youngest is three! There has never been a dull moment since his birth. When he was born he had a bad case of colic, (are there any good cases:) we struggled for months trying to get him to stop crying all the time. After the collic went away he was left with some really bad habits of crying constantly. Night and day. He was such a trial of patience for us and everyone around us. All of a sudden about the time he turned two, everything changed for him and now he is such a sweet boy who has a really fun personality. He has no idea that he is the youngest of three boys, he acts like he can do anything that his older brothers can do. He sat and watched Wyatt everyday at swim lessons and whatever chance he got to be in the pool he would try out whatever he had seen Wyatt learn.

Luke has many loves probably his top 5 would be:

1. Mickey Mouse (We keep wondering when this phase will wear off but he loves Mickey Mouse so much.)
2. Being with "My Boys". (He started calling Eli and Wyatt that one day and it has stuck, now that is how he refers to his brothers.
3. Doing anything with Dad (Whether he is just going to the store or to a baseball game, he loves to be anywhere with Jeremy.)
4. Playing with Playdough (He has been known to sit at the table for 2+ hours playing with playdough.)
5. Coloring (He is always happiest when he has a crayon or marker in his hand, of course he is also the first of my boys to color on the walls)

Swimming Lessons 2009

Yesterday was the last day of swimming lessons for Eli and Wyatt. They had great teachers and we saw a huge improvement in both of them over the past two weeks. Wyatt has really gained confidence in the water and is getting braver all the time with what he will try. Eli's class was a stroke readiness class and they really prepared him well to start learning some strokes. At the pool where they take lessons there is a big twisty slide that on the last day Eli got to go down. (Wyatt wasn't big enough but he got to play on the little slides.) Those two have been so much fun to watch and both teachers made comments about what fun they were to have in class. Luke was such a good sport as he had to sit and watch from the side everyday. Next year he will be old enough to take lessons.

The Sweet Sound of Music

My generous in-laws told us a year and a half ago when they moved that we could have their piano. We were so thankful but until this past weekend couldn't get a trailer up there to bring it back with us. We decided to bite the bullet and put a hitch on our van, borrowed a trailer from Jeremy's work, and made the drive up to get the piano. Our nephew McKay was being baptized in St. George so Jeremy dropped us off Thursday night and drove the rest of the way to Santaquin. He got up the next morning, loaded up the piano and drove back to St. George. Between traffic and pulling a trailer it took us 8 1/2 hours to get back from St. George (it is usually a 5-6 hour drive.) Anyway, it is done now and we are so thankful to have their beautiful piano in our home. Barbara has kept the piano in such great shape, it is 30years old and shows almost next to no wear. Jeremy and I have been taking turns playing and we both realize how much we have forgotten but really look forward to learning again. Eli has been so anxious to learn so Jeremy taught him a scale last night and he has been practicing it all morning. Of course there is a lot of noise coming from the piano but that is to be expected. I really look forward to years of music in our home. Thank you again to Doug and Barbara for making this possible for us.

Brothers/Friends

I was frustrated with my three boys this morning because it took them over a half an hour to eat a bowl of cereal, and then another half an hour to get dressed. I was voicing my frustrations to Jeremy and he said, "Well it is kind of hard when you always have two friends around." I have been thinking about that all morning and how my boys really are the best of friends. In all of that hour long ordeal to get ready, there was not one fight, it was just playing, pretending and making up games. Not to say they never fight, we have our fair share of that too, but for the most part, they really are the best of friends. I look so forward to watching their relationships in the future as I know they are just going to get closer and closer to each other. Having all boys really is going to have its advantages and be really fun! Here are a few pictures from over the past few years of my boys together.

10th Anniversary Trip to Hawaii

It's been two weeks since Jeremy and I got back from Hawaii but I have been very busy and this is the first chance I have taken to upload a few pictures from our trip.

April 30th was our 10th Anniversary and we were so lucky to spend it in Hawaii. We were able to do so much in the five days we were there, it was amazing to me how much we could do with no kids. We snorkeled a few days, drove around the whole island, took a tour of Pearl Harbor, visited the Laie Temple Visitor's Center, went to the Polynesian Cultural Center, ate at some fabulous restaurants and enjoyed relaxing on the beach. It was such a great trip and was so great for Jeremy and I to have time to ourselves. So nice to reminisce about the past 10 years and how thankful we are for our marriage, our 3 (soon 4) sweet boys, a beautiful house, a great ward, and so many great friends and family, we are truly blessed with so much in our lives.

Another big thank you to Barbara, Jeremy's mom, for coming out and staying with our boys. They had so much fun and my house has never been cleaner. Double blessings to go on a fun trip and know my kids are so well taken care of. She even had to change out Eli's pump site which involves kind of a big shot and she did it perfectly, so thanks again Grandma.

On our anniversary, we went to a restaurant called Allan Wong's. The second picture is of my dessert, it looks like a coconut full of fruit, but it is actually coconut sorbet with a hard shell chocolate surrounding it and rolled in nuts. Even from up close it looked like a real coconut. It was a really fun night.



This is kind of cheesy but the beaches are so beautiful there and I wanted a picture to remind me the great day we spent on the North Shore.
