Family Camping Trip....Almost

Jeremy and I realized this week that we hadn't gone camping all year and with the weather staying as warm as it has lately we decided we would go this weekend. We spent the afternoon packing up all the necessary gear, Jeremy made tin foil dinners and we headed out. When we got to the foothills to go up the Mt. a big sign was posted saying that there was a fire warning in affect and we couldn't build a campfire. As many of you experienced campers know, tin foil dinners are not so good with out a campfire. So, rather than eat raw meat we headed back home and cooked our dinners in the BBQ. We roasted marshmallows and made smores. After all the eating was done and the boys had adequate time playing with their flashlights, we put everyone's sleeping bags on the front room floor and turned on a movie. I love camping as much as the next person and of course was disappointed that we couldn't go camping outdoors, but I have say that was the easiest clean-up from camping I have ever done and I slept better (in my own bed) than I have ever slept on a campout. The boys were such good sports and really made the night so much fun.

Hey Sandy, I found your blog from Janet's! I hope it's ok to add you on.

I like camping too, but that sounded like a great at home campout!

Sounds like the campouts we've had the last few years. We love to camp, but haven't really been since moving to CA. You'll have to tell us where the good places are!
